Cinco de Mayo is the fastest growing celebration in the United States, especially in cities that have a significant Mexican population. May 5 marks Mexico's victory over the French in the Battle of Puebla on the 5th of May in 1862.
Cinco de Mayo celebrations are full of colorful decorations, lively music, flavorful food and sense of pride for the Mexican culture.
Whether a small or large party or a parade tend to be traditionally Mexican in nature.
Colors are green, red, and white, the colors of the Mexican flag, The colors are used for table coverings, streamers and invitations.
Pinatas filled with cany are traditional and fun to play.
Food such as tacos, enchiladas,,sopes, quesadillas, guacamole and empanadas, etc. Desserts such as deep fried ice cream, cookies calledbisochitos, tres leche cake.
Traditional music is the mariachi band to play live music. Sombero hats, colorful paper lanterns and maracas.
